Old Hollywood and Vampires

A week ago, we were invited to S Fine Dining‘s Reasons to Celebrate bridal event, and let me tell you: it was magical!

Not only did the food enliven my taste buds, but we were invited to create our very own tablescape. Check out the photographs below, courtesy of our friends and newly married duo Gavin and Judy from Gavin Photography.

The theme was glamorous, literally. And while contemplating the word, we discussed two different associations: Old Hollywood and vampires (our creative director is a Twilight mom and also obsessed with Vampire Diaries). Although it sounds unorthodox, when we thought about vampires and their lush, rich lifestyles full of excess and vanity, we couldn’t help but be inspired! Plus, it gave us a reason to watch Interview With a Vampire and True Blood . . . for research, of course.

So we fused the two ideas together: forbidden love and Jean Harlow, velvet and diamonds, dark lighting and fuchsia, romance and materialism. We especially love the chairs (courtesy of Best of the Best Event Productions), which brought everything together with its juxtaposition of the luxe fabric and modern frame.

Though it’s almost impossible to see the delicate details of the table number, menus and seating cards, they were quite beautiful. For all our paper goods (invitations, save the dates), we go to Jenny from BC Wedding. She’s truly an artist, and we always suggest her work to our clients — yep, she’s that good.

Halyna is the lead-singer of Song Bird Music, a band we frequently contract out to, and although she is young, she has such a beautiful and soulful voice. I can’t help but be moved every time I hear her sing. Plus, I adore her personality!
